What have we been up to this time?

YAY! As restrictions continue to ease, we have slowly been able to start returning to normality - with caution.

The first amazing activity we were able to start again is the minibus project, in partnership with Fawley Parish Council Youth workers, on a Friday night! We started back with a bit of fun delivering Easter eggs that were donated to us through wonderful local residents and organised by Superstar Stu! Did you see us hopping around with our special guest?

Friday the 9th of April saw the return of our usual Friday nights out and about across the Waterside on the minibus. Each Friday, we see an average of 72 young people. On Friday the 7th May, we engaged with 95 young people across the Waterside! It's so great to be back out on this project, chatting to so many of you tackling a range of issues, including anti-social behaviour and littering, as well as offering support.

We continue to be out and about on detached work as The Handy Trust team - sometimes with the amazing ACSOs in the Hythe and Dibden area - so say hi if you see us! From January to March 2021, we engaged with 173 young people out in the Waterside area.

The Handy Trust team have also continued their support on a 1-1 basis for a range of issues, including anxiety, anger, low mood or support with finding education, employment or training. Please get in touch if you need us or use our calendar to find out when the next drop-in is if you'd prefer to pop by to either Marchwood or Hythe Youth Club. Crystle ran her first drop-in at Hythe Youth Club this week offering support to anyone who needed it - she loved being back in the Youth club working with local young people.

This week also saw the return of Lizzie's Bumps, Babies and Parents support group running in Marchwood Youth Club. This group is all about seeing what support you could benefit from whilst allowing little ones opportunities to join in activities and socialise with one another. Please contact Lizzie if you'd like some more information.

Young people might have also seen us in school as we are slowly returning to lunchtime drop-ins in local schools - again, say hi if you see us and to find out more about what we do and how we can help!

With regards to Holiday Clubs and Youth Clubs, we are hoping we are only weeks away from re-starting these but we would like to wait to confirm this before we share with you the date. We want to make sure everything is in place for an enjoyable time but to also be as safe as we possibly can be. We are really hoping we can offer some fun trips this Summer so there's lots of planning and hard work going on behind the scenes!

As always, we are here if you need us. Use our contact details to get in touch or check the calendar to see which youth worker is on-call if it's over the weekend.

See you soon!!
